about the artist

The question of ‘why not?’ underlines my creative process.  Forget the box! It’s obsolete…it’s all about whatever shape you want to throw on that dance floor!  The process drives my practice!!  For me, work well done is work I have thoroughly enjoyed making…work that has made me think, sweat, cry, scream and come back for more!!!  Work that gets my back up; pushes me…gives me cause for doubt. Makes me push in order for ‘why not?’ to become possible.  Boundaries?  What boundaries?

Most of the themes I tackle are based around relationships as I explore how ‘found objects’ interact with each other on a canvas.  I assimilate the role of ‘hunter-gatherer’ by repurposing ‘discarded’, ‘pre-loved’ objects; using them as mixed media elements in my art.  I am also enamoured with the visually expressive spontaneity of scribbling….so mindful.  I am very process art oriented…there is something about ‘capturing the essence of work in progress’ in video format.  Abstract expressionist visual storytelling is my ‘go to’.  I am currently  integrating my poetry into my installation art.
